Weather
Increasing clouds, light northerly winds at TL and intermittent light blowing snow at ridge-tops. Cold temperature but felt relatively pleasant in the sunshine.
Snowpack
HS averaged about 90 cm in sheltered shady slopes below TL and a bit over a meter in wind-loaded areas below TL. Surface forms a mix of wind crusts and facets. Observed strong over weak layering throughout the day but the “mid-pack” slab is weak. Ex ski pen of 10 cm and boot pen of 95 at TL on a north aspect in an area with 95 cm snow
Avalanche
Observed what looked to be an older crown on a NE aspect above TL. Probably D2 in size. Not sure if it was previously reported. It was hard to see and we only saw it in the afternoon when the light hit it just right.
