Snowpack
Top of Silver couloir was slightly cross loaded but was a mix of shallow soft slabs and firmer snow. As we skied the middle half the slabs suddenly changed and were a mix of strastrugi, firm snow and then a hollowed slab which is where the release occurred.
Avalanche
D1 R1 Wind slab approximately 100 feet wide which then triggered another D1 R2 slab skiers left of the original slab. Both slid on established bed surface of existing snowpack. Skier was able to surf/cut left across the accelerating debris to a safer zone and avoid the avalanche which ran about 800+ feet
