Weather

A cold afternoon with a precipitation rate of S1 and a temperature of 13.2F. Overcast skies with calm winds from the northeast. New snow accumulations of 2-3 inches with a trace in the river valley. Increasing winds as the front passes out of the area.

Snowpack

The new addition of 2-3 inches has made no impression to the overall stability of the snowpack. There has been little wind and sun effect in this protected north aspect. The hardness of the snow changes very little as you inspect the snowpack, while boot penetration is almost to the ground. Facets comprise the lower half of the snowpack with depth hoar just above the ground. Observations confirm the days forecasted danger rating of LOW.

Avalanche

No new avalanches.
