Weather
Beautiful Bluebird Day! No wind.
Snowpack
Widespread facets and surface-hoar on the snow surface. A 5 cm slab was observed on some exposed ridgeline slopes near-treeline. The slab did not seem to pose a threat at this time. Slopes that face east and north have the deepest snowpack while southern slopes are the shallowest. No cracking or collapsing today.
Avalanche
After this past weeks new snow and strong northerly winds we had a small natural cycle on southerly slopes. Crust/facet combinations are most likely the culprit. From what I have observed avalanches are failing mid-pack.
