Weather
NE face of Flattop Mountain between 10,200 and 10,800 elevation (Banana Bowls). Temps in the mid-20s, consistent snowfall (around an inch per hour), strong wind from the west, whiteout conditions.
Snowpack
Mix of powder and wind-packed snow over relatively strong, thick crust at 8-12 inches depth. Observed some cracking of the newly formed wind slab, but no slide or widespread propagation. (Note that we were riding low-angle terrain, approximately 25-28 degrees.)
