Weather

Another quite nice day. Calm winds with mostly blue skies.

Snowpack

The upper snowpack is fully faceted and made for some good "recycled pow" skiing on shadier slopes. In steeper terrain, we were chased down the hill by slow moving facet sluffs, showing how weak the surface snow has become. Fortunately, the mid-pack slab is still supportable, despite it's weakening under current clear/cold conditions. It was super easy to probe around and hit ground, showing how thin and weak the snowpack is this year.

Avalanche

We triggered a few small loose snow avalanches on shady slopes. They failed/entrained the upper 10-15cm of weak facets.
