Cool and windy with still some drifting snow.
Snowpack
On east and southeast below treeline slopes, shallowly buried melt-freeze crusts are thick, and even with a large load, it would be hard to affect any deeper layers. Southeast-facing near treeline slopes are similar. Crusts underneath a few inches of new snow are 2 inches thick. We found perc columns in the snowpack, indicating melt water penetrated deeper during our last warm-up. East-facing near treeline slopes had a wintry, mostly faceted pack. All areas were relatively shallow, with snow depths around 90 cm, except in deeply drifted places near treeline where the snowpack was over 150 cm.
