First ski of season into recce the area. Pretty grim conditions. At a sheltered treeline site, I dug a snow profile, and found 90cm total depth, mainly comprised of weak,sugary facets throughout. There were no significant shears, but there is also little tension right now in the snowpack. Its no so confidence inspiring if we ever get a significant load over top. The upper start zones looked heavily wind affected from the outflows. The cut runs are marginal at best. Lots of sharks lurking. Ski quality is OK, with a cautious mindset with many hidden hazards.
