Blue Lake

We travelled up to 2000 m near the Blue Lake Cabin, where we met a friendly community and found quality snow. There is now 40-60 cm of right-side-up snow settling over the early December crust layer. Total snow depths in this area ranged from 140-180 cm. Northwest winds were light, and we didn’t observe any blowing snow. The day started with overcast skies and light flurries with periods of graupel. By the afternoon, broken skies gave us a brief glimpse of the sun.
