Went for a tour on Bruins glacier and took a look at the slide from two days ago, after having spoken to the people who triggered it in the parking lot. They were ascending the more engaging part of Bruins glacier about halfway between 8812 and Ursus Major. The trigger point was on a well defined convex roll, remote triggering all the way up to the shoulder of 8812 peak and running across the entire ridge line to Ursus Major. The crown was luckily only 10-15cm deep and and the snow was low density/volume, but certain sections ran quite far (300m) and the level of propagation was surprising. Suspect that this recently wind loaded feature failed on the surface hoar identified in high alpine North aspects. Definitely a lucky break for the party involved.
