It was a stunner of a sunny day today in the Window Mountain area. There was no new avalanche activity and it was calm with barely a breath of wind. Sheltered terrain was still holding soft snow with 50 cm over the crust that formed on February 3rd. The crust is generally supportive of sleds. Below this crust, the snowpack is faceted with a strengthening midpack. We stayed in sheltered terrain where the best riding was but there is still a low snowpack in this area.
