Boot Stompin' Slab

We found a couple layers of surface hoar crystals (see close up photo of individual crystal) up in the Bijoux area today - one layer was buried 20cm and the other was at 35cm. Both of these layers showed that human triggering of avalanches was possible in that zone when they reacted in all of our snowpack tests. That made us question whether committing lines containing steep roll-overs were a good idea so we stuck to mellower riding in the trees where the powder was good.
