.....it is not enough! You have to really want it to get to the goods. We didn’t have that much time, and alder bashing and sharky rocks ate up a lot of our journey. The snow pack is still shallow, with soft snow on top, and crusts near the base. Our main concern today was for places around ridge tops where the snow might be a little bit more cohesive due to wind, making it possible to trigger slab avalanches over the crust layer.
