Very cold day when out of the trees but surprisingly warm in the trees. Consistent wind but not as much as forecasted where we went. Cloudy all day and visibility getting much worse in the higher alpine. Experienced a small layer (2-5cm) of fresh or windloaded snow that slid on a little crust as very small avalanches a couple of times on very steep (40+ degrees) slopes. Skiing on it we could not feel the alpine crust. Once most of the tracks merged it got very crusty in the trees and on the ski out.
