At Bijoux we saw sparkly surface hoar growing right up to ridge crests, we also saw these feathery crystals in the upper snowpack. Small wind slabs failed on this layer in tests. We have not seen any natural avalanches on this layer yet, however, an increase in the wind blew more snow into lee features throughout the day. This kept us away from large terrain features. We found good riding in sheltered areas at treeline.
