We skinned up to the knoll at 1450m just below the summit of Round mtn. All slopes had 10cm dry snow above a ~1cm thick crust. On N facing slopes we found that crust to be breakable, thinner and rather grabby when we skied it. The S facing slopes ski better as the sun affect seems to have been stronger and presented a non breakable crust you can stay on top of. While doing a hand shear test on a small untouched slope I found the Dec 10'th crust D 10cm, fist snow below to a pencil crust D 35cm. And the lower snowpack well settled. The upper snowpack did release D35 with moderate pressure as a sudden pop.
