Purple Knob/Sweet 16

Linked purple knob & sweet 16 today. Massive house-sized cornice guards the entrance of purple. Belayed a ski cut, no result. Wind pressed skiing in the gully. Southerly alpine features remain soft & dry. Pit in the S bowl below purple CT7 down 10cm uneven break on soft wind slab, no propogation on ECT. Sun crust alive & well with small facets above & below down 70cm. Second snow profile dug on a SW aspect below heros knob, suncrust 70cm down. No result. Better skiing in Sweet 16. Great day out, clouds kept that spring sun at bay!
