Snow Conditions
heavy, wet

As expected the snow conditions changed massively at different elevations. Morning in the treeline was soft, and then in the subalpine there was a hard crust that would not have supported a skier. Afternoon skiing in the alpine (1700m) was good for a few turns, but as soon as you got to around 1500m it become very heavy and sticky. Skiing down into the treeline again it become mashed potatoes and then finally into fully sugared and separated crystals that would have left you postholing all the way down without skis on.
