Spent one night at Mt Steele Cabin and did a sunrise lap from the summit. The views were incredible but skiing quality subpar. Highly variable snow surface, mostly wind affected, interrupted by surprise powder pockets on North and West aspects. Thin but stiff wind slabs sit on top of about 20cm powder which in turn sits on top of a thick and strong layer. The best skiing was in between trees at 1,400m on sheltered, south facing slopes.
