Mild temps and broken sky's. Wind were moderate out of the south drifting surface hoar onto leeward slopes.
Snowpack
Recent winds developed firm surface slabs near and above treeline on all aspects we traveled on today, S-W-N. We even found slabs below treeline in exposed areas and cross loaded features down to 11,000ft. When pushing a ski pole through the snow you could feel softer layers under the surface slab and crust facet combos near the bottom of the snowpack. Estimated snow depth 60-120cm's Widespread well developed surface hoar. Winds blew away in exposed areas but lingered below treeline and in protected areas.
