NW aspect, 11,400'. Estimated winds from W at 10 knots gusting to 20-25. Light snow with overcast skies.
Snowpack
NW Aspect, 11,400', near timberline characteristics. On the side of a gully, noted reactive top layer with cracks initiating on a convexity (cracks approximately 5 feet in length). Probed with ski pole: moderately hard layer (approx. 1 foot in depth) over soft layer. No slides observed.
