Good Morning, Snowfall tapered off near midnight, but RH remains ~80%. It looks like 7"-9" of new snow fell on the passes (6" in the Gorge) in the last 24 hours, with storm totals around a foot or slightly more. Snowfall shifted from favoring the southern passes yesterday morning to favoring the north side by late in the day. Weather stations showing very cold temps this AM, mostly in the single digits with some dipping below zero. Winds are currently SW/15-25 with gusts into the 50s. Winds over the past 24 hours were mostly out of the SW. The winds did veer to the northwest for a short spell yesterday and blew a steady 20-30 mph with much stronger gusts (peak gust 74). So, VERY COLD with lots of snow redistribution out there. Most new deposition onto lee north and easterly terrain. Very strong winds are forecast to persist today, so we anticipate lots of blowing snow and continued loading of starting zones. This has been a quick load on an extremely weak snowpack. Beware and dress warmly!!!
