Weather

Overcast. Cold. Light snow with periods of S2. Moderate W wind with strong gusts. Intense blowing snow. Drifts noticeably forming through the day below treeline.

Snowpack

Avg HS 110cm w/ areas as deep as 140cm. Ski pen 25cm. HST 40cm. Many areas below treeline had 4F wind slab on top of 40cm of F+ storm snow. Found some slopes w/ 15cm of 4F+ slabs (Jan 24th) underlying storm snow, then F+ facets below that. Hand shears produced no results at interface of new/old snow or above Jan 25th melt layer.
