Weather
Since the onset of this storm our study plots gained some significant snow (south-side a bit different than reported earlier this morning). Forecasts show more of the same in store today and overnight, followed by a break on Monday. Monday night we'll see another wave with more snowfall, ending with cooler temps. Forecast will be updated with later model runs.
Snowpack
Snow totals so far: HN24/water Monument 10"/.7" Red Mtn Pass 10"/.7" Molas 8"/.9" Coal Bank 11.5"/1.6" Blue Point path gained 17" but most of it has already sluffed out (the left side came out as a 6" shallow slab putting 2'-3' of debris on the inside lane). Expect more sluff or slab activity today on all steeper terrain - involving mostly the new snow. Noteworthy is a poorly bonded interface between yesterday's wet snow and the overnight snow with the potential for slab releases.
