Weather
30-40s at 13,000 feet, on a Northwest to Western aspect, cloudy with winds 15-20 gusting to ~40 mph in the morning, then sunny in the afternoon with no winds with an occasional 20 mph gust.
Snowpack
On the same aspects in the couloir we found a very hard slap which was between 6" and 18" deep over a completely faceted ground layer which was 6-12" deep. The seemed to consistent over the whole length of the couloir. In the afternoon the top layer of the snow started to soften from bulletproof to something a lot more carve-able and kickable.
