The latest weather maker has brought steady snow to our southern passes. 1”/hour snowfall has caused a few small sluffs around Coal Creek. Snowfall will continue this morning with a shift in emphasis to the north side this afternoon, when Gorge and Red Mtn Pass will be favored for snow. Currently in Silverton: Snow S-1 ; HN24 – 2”; Winds- calm; Temp 11F. Current on Passes: North Hwy 550: Red Mtn Pass about 2”; Gorge Trace. South Hwy 550: Molas 4”; Coal Bank 5+” and seeing 1”/hr snowfall rates. Weather Stations: Winds have been relatively light - SE/5-10 G range 10-15 (20’s on Abram). RH 88%-90%. Temps - single digits.
