Snowpack

The snowpack was generally shallow. The area observed was a north facing open field unprotected from wind. The top foot of snow was bonded powder with a slight weak layer about 4 inches from the surface, the weak sugary layer was in the lower part of the snowpack a foot and a half from the surface, six inches above the bottom. The weak layer was two inches thick and consisted of very un-bonded bb size crystals.
