At 10:00pm many areas along Hwy 550 have already received 9” to 10” accumulations. Much of that snowfall occurred after 4:30-5:00 pm during several periods of high precip rates (often 2+” / hour). Vigorous SW winds accompanied the snow creating slab conditions and triggering several sluffs from our steeper terrain along the highway. Expecting the shift from SW to NW fairly soon - as the cold front approaches – this is expected to usher in another round of snowfall.
