Weather

1" on 3/2/13 with greater accum. at higher elevations. Evidence of wind drifting creating areas of deeper new snow. Snake couloir had est. 4", and skied ankle to boot deep. Snow remained dry and loose on north aspects. At 12,000' and below, snow surface was moist, but no wet loose activity. Snow remained supportable all day. New snow on solar aspects 12,000' and above was moist but crust underneath remained frozen. Broken skies with convective clouds and wind kept snow surface cool throughout the day.

Snowpack

Few wet loose to size1 noted. Dry loose to size1 in snake couloir running fast and far. No slab results. Seems like it would take a large load to trigger deep persistent. Cornice fall with warming temps today would be major concern
