Weather

At mid-day: Temps 30ish up near and above treeline; 38-40 at pass level. SW winds brisk at times. Breeze and intermittent clouds seemed to aid in keeping the snow surface firm. HS 52 was at our study plot

Snowpack

Only tested W & slight SW aspects - surfaces remained relatively firm or frozen at 1:00 2:00 pm all elevations (only a little softer on more southerly aspects). One hand-pit on W aspect was refrozen down 45cm with facets below.

Avalanche

Noticed a couple of fresher, small slides not seen Saturday afternoon. Suspect these may have occurred the past 1- 3 days.
