Weather
Overcast, snow at hut, rain in valley floor. 815am temps at trailhead were 38 F.
Snowpack
Snowpack totally unsupportive in valley floor, full depth foot pen even on winter packed trail at 1300hrs. Snowpack up at 11,200' was breakable but with 30-35cm foot pen off trail. Many places along trail at low elevation, the snowpack would not support even on skis and would get full depth ski pen.
