Weather
Windy and Cold at the top of the pass. Tempatures were plesent in the sun and out of the wind. Sky cleared during the day.
Snowpack
Continuous snow coverage is isolated to specific slopes that are most subject to wind-loading. In general, the snowpack is thin and on many slopes grass, rocks, and down timber are still visible. In pockets of wind-drifted snow the snowpack is weak and continues to facet. Recent winds have created a stiff surface slab. That sits above a layer of recently loaded storm snow. Below the newly drifted snow a knife hard curst caps early season snow that is now well-developed facets and depth hoar. ECT test showed moderated and easy propagating test results at the ground and new/old snow interface. No Collapsing or Cracking observed.

No avalanche activity observed
