Snowpack

Snow cover along the 550 and Cement Creek corridors remains thin and patchy. Only the most northerly slopes are holding a contiguous snowpack. These will be the slopes most suspect when they finally do receive a new load. Snow on these slopes is mostly firm wind board overlying facets along with other buried wind layers in near and above treeline areas. The snowpack in below treeline areas is mostly faceted top to bottom, though some drummy and firm surface crusts can be found there as well.
