Snowpack

In general, the snowpack is pretty simple right now: new snow from the past several storms is sitting on large basal facets. However, snow depth varies greatly depending on aspect and elevation. Recent prolonged strong winds have redistributed new snow, particularly in near and above treeline areas. Some areas are scoured to rock while other areas have meter+ deep pillows of hard slab. These are the most tender and dangerous areas.
