Snowpack

At BLUE POINT found variable snow but mostly isothermal in the main path. Any NE-erly twists had soft winter-like snow. Depth ranged from over a meter in the colder snow where cross-loading added to the depth, to 2.5ft or less in the isothermal main part of path. Snow surface was supporting our skis at the time, but boot pen was an easy drop to the ground. At CEMENT FILL we toured up a W aspect to just above TL, where lower angle slopes were still relatively hard, with surfaces becoming softer with steepness and twists to SW. Depth was 2ft or less, becoming shallower with ground appearing on more S aspects. Enjoyed good corn-like skiing most of the ski down. At TWIN CROSSINGS noted a fresh slab that was not seen yesterday afternoon (W aspect below TL just north and adjacent to Brooklyns). Think it ran sometime after 4:30 pm. Initiated by a sluff originating from upper rocky terrain. Crown was quite deep for this area. See photo.
