Snowpack
One notable natural avalanche that occurred yesterday or last night: Nearly all of the South face of Mt. Owen slid, with crown lines extending over 1500 feet wide to the east facing saddle of Ruby, and slabs pulled out to the ground in some areas and ran over 1000 ft. HS-N-R4D3-I/O At Irwin, on E aspects above treeline, hand explosives triggered isolated 12" soft slabs in windloaded pockets running on the meltfreeze crust buried 2 days ago. (SS-AE-R2D1.5-I) On a WSW aspect above treeline in a crossloaded path, an airblast resulted in an 18" soft slab that ran full path on near surface facets (SS-AB-R3D2-I). Other explosive/ski cut work in W aspects had no results.
