Hello, this is not intended to shame the people involved. I’m pretty sure they learned something today. As myself and my ski partner were travelling through the terrain below Rossco’s we had a snowboarder drop in above us in the steep lines to the lookers right of col. We quickly realized the potential that he was going to drop an avalanche on us and made attempt to move quickly out of harms way. The snowboarder instantly triggered a size 1.5 avalanche and went for a ride to the bottom out of our sight. We quickly transitioned to go assist in a rescue if required. Fortunately the rider had self rescued from a waist deep burial and was not injured. After a brief civilized discussion voicing our concern with the situation we went on our way. Let’s take it easy out there folks, send time will happen again in due time. Cheers.
