Initially attempting STS, gained the col on the West Ridge of Cheops. Thick 2-3cm crust existed on N aspect up to the col. Instead ascended S ridge of 8812 to 2350m and traversed to 8812 bowl. S Ridge and E aspect off the ridge had thick crust that made for bad skiing. Found good corn on more S facing slopes in the bowl, especially on far skiers left.
