Skiing a cutback today when a skier remotely triggered a small avalanche on the late January surface hoar layer.
Avalanche
Recent storm snow has consolidated in the last couple of days and formed a 25cm slab. Skier remotely triggered the slide from about 20 m away. Slide started on a steep convex roll and didn't propagate to a deeper slab. Snow under the slab was crusty.
