Light rain up to 1200m, wet snow above w mod SW winds. 15cm moist storm snow amounts are rapidly settling into a slab, with additional wind slabs in most open areas. Temps +2 at treeline. Widespread cracking in storm snow, top 20cm, skicutting reactive, but only on steeper terrain. Obs 1 Size 2 Natural slab, on steep, unsupported alpine NE asp @ 1600m, likely more poor vis. couple test profiles on a N and S asp show 30cm on Jan 15 crust, giving mod, clean shears. Hard shears on Jan 1 interface. No surface hoar found in these locations. ski quality poor.
