Quick report

Dug a quick pit on the suicide bluffs trail while out snowshoeing. East facing slope 35 or so degrees. About 4cm of new snow on a slight crust, snowing heavily until mid afternoon. Only result was a resistant planar on the 2nd elbow tap about 40cm down. Subject layer was noticeable in snowpack but was not a crust. (Did not have magnifying glass so couldn't study snow crystals.) layer did not propagate on extended column test. High winds from the south were also causing some localised drifting on the way out, but any slabs seemed well bonded and did not move
