Cobra fail

Attempted cobra couloir this morning but after getting up to below the line we realized another group was already tranisitioning to bootpacking. We decided to try the line directly lookers left of cobra but after bootpacking 100m or so it was obvious it wasn’t worthwhile as the snow was icy and hardpack and the fan was full of debris. We decided not to go further in hopes of better skiing because it looked nasty and we weren’t stoked on skiing more avi devris and ice than needed. We also saw continuous shedding of steep south and east aspects across the valley.
