Chester couloir had a mixed bag of conditions. The majority of the couloir had 4-8cm of freshly developed soft wind slab that was reactive. Major sluffing with loose dry due to recent snow and shallow snow in all choke points. Roughly 140cm in most spots with a buried medium density wind slab 60 down that sits on deep facets before reaching base. Chester sub peaks entire NE/E face shed all the new snow wall to wall in loose dry form. Evidence of a few small size 1 crowns from slabs at the top out of chester couloir were noted. Generally good coverage in the chester zone on N aspects. 200m from top of the couloir a hand sheer test provided moderate results compared to a hard result in the fan.
