30-50 cm of recent storm snow in a soft (4F) slab sits atop a hard and supportive rain crust. Hand shears produced hard results, the slab appears to be bonding well to the crust layer below. Good riding conditions with bootop powder. We did not experience and whumpfing or shooting cracks. We did not observe any recent avalanches (though visibility was limited due to overcast skies and a lingering fog). Temperatures at the car were 0 degrees C, at 1750m -3C, at ridgetop -5C. Light northerly winds at ridgetop, calm near the hut.
