Made our way up to Hanging Lake. Coverage very low in trees until about 1050m (which has now been stomped out down to mud by everyone boot packing on the way down when the survival skiing got a little too exciting). Great coverage at the lake, immediately started feeling heavier and more consolidated as we made our way up to the ridge. A few quick hand shear tests gave way easily on a planar break ~20cm down. The only little convex roll we skied near the top slid on this layer. We also heard a couple whumpfs in protected flat spots in the trees near the ridge top.
