A snowfall warning for Pine Pass had us traveling to Mount Morfee keen to check how much snow, (about boot top, but it rode deeper than that) how it was bonding with the old surface (we could see blowing snow at ridge crests otherwise it stuck to where it fell) and how the persistent weak layer was responding to the extra load (we're waiting on visibility to improve to answer this one) The new snow on top of a supportive snowpack made for fun sledding in the trees.
