Snowpack

The snowpack depth near treeline is generally about 160-180 centimeters deep and supportive to skis and snowmobiles. The most significant concern is a thin layer of facets and small surface hoar fragments 50 cm below the surface, sandwiched between two, 1 finger hard slabs. Extended column tests produced moderate to hard propagatin results here with no other failures.
