Weather

I observed S-1 to S1 snowfall and obscured skies throughout the afternoon, with temperature dropping to 25 degrees F by 3pm at 11,400'.

Snowpack

I dug a pit on a north-facing slope at treeline just below a large alpine bowl. I found 83cms of snow, with soft "Fist" hard snow at the top and denser "Fist plus" snow at the bottom. There is no slab present here within the upper snowpack. Notably, I found an interesting graupel layer about 20cms down from the surface. I completed a compression and extended column and got no results. The snow from the last storm in October has faceted out into "recycled pow" on shady slopes which made trailbreaking feel quite deep.
