CLR skies with temps pushing just above freezing. Light west winds with stronger gusts. Occasional light blowing snow where I was, with periods of more intense blowing snow near ridgetop.
Snowpack
We still lack a slab where I traveled on east and southeast slopes below treeline. On east, southeast, and north aspects near treeline slabs could be found on terrain features that were either being actively loaded by the wind or had experienced recent wind loading. Average snow depth was somewhere between 30-45cm, but varied from 0-60cm where winds have redistributed snow. Looking around the Pass and the I-70 corridor, many above treeline west facing slopes have been blown free of snow. I dug in a loaded area high in Sister 2 and found a couple of harder layers sandwiching some faceted snow. This was all on top of a thin layer of basal facets. I had one propagating and one non-propagating ECT result at the top of the basal facets. Ten feet away from where I dug there was no slab present.
