We spent Feb1-5 at Diana Lake Lodge. There was evidence of a recent widespread natural avalanche cycle on all aspects, generally size 1-2.5, starting in shallow rocky terrain. In the basin above the lodge almost all the ridges had avalanched while the gullies had not. A test profile at 2250m on a SW aspect showed CTE2 SC down 20 on stellars and CTE 6 SC down 40 on 4 mm surface hoar. We received 5 cm of new snow with light winds. We skied mostly previously avalanched terrain, with average 35 cm of new snow on the bed surface which was generally excellent skiing. We avoided terrain with hard wind slabs which we found on SW and N aspects in the alpine.
